According to data, Taiwan's imports of steel bar slumped by more than 20% in the first seven months of this year, due to sluggish demand.
The statistics showed that Taiwan imported 160,654 tons of steel bars in the first seven months of this year, decreasing substantially by 22% from 205,473 tons in the same period of a year earlier.
Among them, the imports of alloy steel bar accounted for 70% of the total steel bar imports with 111,221 tons.
In the given period of time, China was the largest exporter of steel bars to Taiwan with 61,246 tons, Japan was the second largest one with 45,793 tons and South Korea was the third largest one with 35,767 tons.
